More Than a Handwarmer: Ocoopa Winter Campaign #NiceToHoldYou That Helped People Hold What Matters

More Than a Handwarmer: Ocoopa Winter Campaign #NiceToHoldYou That Helped People Hold What Matters

Warmth can be physical—something you feel in your hands on a cold day.
But sometimes, warmth is emotional: the comfort of being close to the people who matter most.

This winter, we launched Nice to Hold You. For the one you wish you could hold.—a community campaign built around a simple idea: help people hold onto what matters, especially when distance makes it hard.

Along the way, #NiceToHoldYou became more than a hashtag. It became a collection of real stories, honest moments, and reminders that warmth—like connection—should be easier to reach.

What #NiceToHoldYou Was All About

Nice to Hold You ran from Oct 6 to Dec 24, 2025, with a simple weekly rhythm (primarily on Instagram):

  • Participants published a public UGC post
  • Included #NiceToHoldYou and tagged @ocoopa_official
  • Each week, we selected a winner based on UGC submissions
  • Winners were announced weekly via Instagram Stories, and notified by DM

The campaign was open globally (participants must be 18+), and it was designed to be real, transparent, and community-led—not complicated, not gated behind long forms, and not reserved for a select few.

The Prize: Flexible Support, Built for Real Life

We know that “wanting to hold someone” can look different for everyone. So the prize offered two paths:

  • Option A: $100 cash prize
If a winner chose cash, the additional amount was rolled forward, helping grow future prize potential.
  • Option B: Up to $200 flight reimbursement
Winners could book travel anytime before Dec 24, then submit a receipt screenshot to be reimbursed.

In total, the campaign delivered over $3,000 in prizes—focused on one goal: make it easier for someone to show up for what matters.

Verification note (for trust):
Flight reimbursements were issued via PayPal, based on a receipt screenshot provided by the winner.

Why We Did This

Ocoopa makes products for cold hands—but we’ve always believed the deeper mission is warmth you can share.

rechargeable hand warmer is something you can carry every day: in your jacket pocket, on your commute, at your desk, on a walk, or on a winter trip. But the feeling it represents—relief, comfort, steadiness—often points to something bigger:

  • Checking in on family when life becomes unpredictable
  • Showing up for a partner, a friend, or a child
  • Holding onto relationships that time and distance can stretch thin

Nice to Hold You was built to honor those moments.

Real Stories From This Winter

Across the campaign, we selected around 10 flight winners, and most winners chose the flight reimbursement option. The messages we received were the part we’ll remember longest.

Below are a few anonymized excerpts shared with permission:

Story 1: “It helped when I needed it most.”

“I wanted to let y'all know that my dad got hospitalized and had emergency surgery last Thursday, so I had to travel last minute to be with my family (my dad is ok, but will be in the hospital for a while). Since Christmas was so close, the flight was not cheap, and the money I won from you guys for a plane ticket REALLY helped. Thank you so much. I wanted to originally use it for an anniversary trip, but it came handy now.”

Sometimes warmth isn’t a gift. It’s stability in a stressful week. We’re grateful we could help make one urgent trip a little less heavy.

Story 2: A flight as a gift, not for yourself

“Would it be okay to book it myself for another person? Not myself—thinking of gifting my husband the flight for him to visit his friend whom he hasn't seen a long time….. We have already booked the flight….. Thank you so much again Ocoopa team. This is such a blessing and my husband is so happy to reunite with his friend.”
— Winner (anonymized)

This is exactly what “For the one you wish you could hold” means: helping someone reconnect, even when you’re not the one on the plane.

Story 3: Everyday warmth that turns into gifting

“Thank you! My kids keep stealing my warmers and I NEED them! So I’ll just have to get them their own… this helps immensely.”
“Just ordered 5 more as Christmas presents! This product is utterly incredible!!”
— Winner (anonymized)

We love this because it’s the other side of the same story: warmth as a daily habit, then warmth as a gift.

A Hand Warmer Can Be Small—But the Meaning Doesn’t Have To Be

Nice to Hold You wasn’t designed to be “perfect.” It was designed to be warm of human.

handwarmer is practical. A rechargeable hand warmer is easy to keep nearby. But what we saw through #NiceToHoldYou was how often small, practical things become symbols:

  • “I’m thinking of you.”
  • “I want you to be comfortable.”
  • “I want to be there.”

And when we can’t always be there physically, we can still build moments that help people get closer.
